The Scenezoned team went next to Siargao, home of the most swell surf spots in the country. Amanda Fernandez took a break from her crazy schedule in Manila and joined us for a wonderful adventure in one of the most chill and vibrant islands in the Philippines.
After a short flight from Cebu, we found ourselves arriving in Siargao and we headed straight to the best boat service in the island, Galatea. We explored three popular beaches nearby namely Guyam, Daku and Naked Island. All three had a unique charm but Naked was definitely a team favorite with its pristine white sand and bareness. That was where we watched the sun set and downed a few bottles of
beer water. The next day, we drove to the northern part of Siargao to visit the unique Magpupungko Rock Pools. We ended the day with some surf lessons in the famous Cloud 9 where a huge crowd of locals and foreigners typically flock during dusk to catch some sick waves.
Before the trip, all we heard about Siargao was mainly about its surf and how they have the most swell spots in the country and in the world. And all that is true.
What they don’t tell you about Siargao though is its one-of-a-kind charm. A charm that cannot be explained through photos nor words. A charm that’s brought about by utter simplicity and good vibes. A charm that will make you want to leave the city and live in the island, for good.
